About Fross Zelnick
For over 55 years, Fross Zelnick has been a premier global intellectual property law firm focused on trademark, copyright, design patent, and related matters, trusted by many of the world’s most recognized brands, businesses, celebrities, and creators.
As a boutique firm, we offer the opportunity to work alongside leading IP lawyers in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where ideas, initiative, and contributions are valued. Our Midtown office, conveniently located between Bryant Park and Times Square, offers easy access to major subway and commuter lines.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Marketing Assistant to support the firm’s Marketing Operations Manager and broader Marketing and Business Development team.
This is a hands-on role with exposure to a wide range of initiatives across marketing, business development, events, digital communications, CRM, research, and rankings. The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, resourceful, and eager to learn, with strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in understanding the purpose behind their work.
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their projects, manages their time thoughtfully, and enjoys keeping things organized and moving forward. Because this role works closely with attorneys, colleagues, vendors, and external organizations, a collaborative, personable, and team-oriented approach is equally important.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day marketing and business development projects, including email communications, invitations, attorney bios, website updates, social media, presentations, and other firm materials.
- Coordinate the firm’s newsletter process, including formatting, website updates, CRM distribution, resends, and LinkedIn posting.
- Maintain CRM contacts and lists, and assist with research on companies, prospective clients, conferences, attendees, and other business development opportunities.
- Assist with client events, CLE programs, conferences, and sponsorships, including invitations, RSVPs, attendee research, event materials, vendors, and onsite coordination.
- Responsible for creating and formatting marketing and business development reports using data from email, social media, website traffic, events, CRM, and campaigns.
- Keep project and legal directory information organized, including Airtable trackers, files, reports, referee information, approvals, and next steps.
- Provide administrative support, including invoice tracking and submission, payments, credit card reconciliation, meeting scheduling, travel arrangements, and itineraries.
- Bring strong attention to detail and ownership to your work, from proofreading materials to communicating progress, asking thoughtful questions, and helping the team keep projects moving.
Work Environment
While the firm has adopted a hybrid work environment, this role requires a minimum of three days a week in the office. Non-Exempt, bonus eligible.
Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 depending on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in a professional services or legal environment preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Experience with CRM systems (such as InterAction or Nexl), email marketing platforms (such as Vuture, Constant Contact, Mailchimp), website content management systems, project management tools, or similar marketing technology is preferred.
- Strong writing, proofreading, and formatting skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines simultaneously.
- Comfortable conducting research, working with data, and learning new platforms and subject matter.
- Interest in marketing, business development, branding, professional services, and intellectual property is strongly preferred.
We Are Looking For
- Exceptional attention to detail. You notice when something does not look right, double check your work, and care about accuracy before something leaves your hands.
- Highly organized with strong follow-through. You keep track of multiple projects and next steps, manage your time well, and take ownership of seeing assignments through.
- Proactive and resourceful. You ask thoughtful questions, look for answers, and think about what needs to happen next.
- Intellectually curious. You want to understand why we are doing something, not simply what needs to be done, and you enjoy learning along the way.
- Thoughtful and personable communicator. You listen carefully, take good notes, communicate clearly, and are comfortable working with attorneys, colleagues, vendors, and external contacts.
- Collaborative and adaptable. You enjoy being part of a team, are willing to jump in where needed, and can adjust as priorities evolve.
