Description

The Protective Coatings Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial coating projects. This role evaluates project specifications, conducts takeoffs, solicits vendor pricing, and collaborates with operations to ensure profitable and executable bids.

Requirements

Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents for coating and surface preparation work
Perform detailed quantity takeoffs (surface area, materials, labor, equipment)
Develop comprehensive cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
Prepare and submit bid proposals within deadlines
Identify project risks, constraints, and value-engineering opportunities
Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings as needed
Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and historical cost data
Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure smooth project handoff
Assist in contract review and scope clarification
