Requirements
Under limited supervision, plans, organizes, manages, and directs subordinate managers and staff responsible for utility planning, design, construction and asset management within Utility Services; serves as the lead engineering professional for the Department of Utility Services; and performs related duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be a proven water/wastewater engineer and leader with extensive experience mitigating operational, legal, regulatory, financial, and environmental risks through integrated asset management programs and appropriate prioritization of capital projects to support replacement/ renewal of assets, capacity improvements, reliability improvements, growth, and redundancy projects to maintain technical excellence and industry best practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or closely related field
Ten (10) years of (post-license) professional utilities engineering planning, design, construction, asset management, and/or closely related functions in a large water/wastewater utility, five (5) years of which were at the manager/supervisory level
Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
Valid registration as a Professional Engineer with the State of Nevada or the ability to obtain this registration through reciprocity within one (1) year of hire
Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
Desirable: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
