- Digital Membership Marketing Manager
Description
WTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (classical music radio station) are seeking a Digital Membership Marketing Manager to plan, execute, and optimize digital campaigns that grow and engage our membership base. As part of the Membership team, this role will manage digital membership and fundraising campaigns across multiple channels, using audience insights, testing, and campaign performance data to improve results and help achieve department revenue and membership goals. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-orientated, and hands-on digital marketer who can translate campaign objectives into effective tactics, manage multiple projects from planning through analysis, and use results to continually improve performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Plan, execute, and optimize digital membership and fundraising campaigns across email, web, donation forms, streaming, SMS, paid media, social media, search, and other digital channels.
-Manage campaign planning and execution from start to finish, including goals, audiences, messaging, offers, creative needs, timelines, budgets, tracking, and performance measurement and analysis.
-Use member, audience, and campaign data to inform segmentation, targeting, testing, and optimization, with particular emphasis on new-member acquisition and the growth and retention of sustaining members.
-Own campaign performance measurement and analysis across membership, revenue, acquisition, retention, conversion, and engagement KPIs; synthesize data across channels to uncover trends, diagnose performance drivers, identify growth opportunities, and translate insights into actionable recommendations that improve campaign strategy, investment, and results.
-Develop and execute testing and automation strategies, including A/B testing of campaign components and automated member journeys such as welcome, streaming service activation, renewal, and reactivation series.
-Serve as the day-to-day campaign contact for digital agencies and vendors, coordinating timelines, deliverables, reporting, and other needs.
-Maintain campaign calendars, documentation, tracking standards, and reporting practices to support accurate measurement and efficient execution.
-Stay current on digital fundraising, direct response, email marketing, automation, and digital campaign practices, and identify opportunities to strengthen membership marketing efforts.
-Support broader digital audience growth, fundraising, and other organizational initiatives as needs evolve.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
-Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills, including high-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to manage competing priorities, budgets, timelines, vendors, and deliverables.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a collaborative, results-oriented approach to working with internal teams and external partners.
EXPERIENCE:
-3–5 years of relevant experience in digital marketing, fundraising, membership, email marketing, direct response, or a related field; nonprofit, public media, membership, or subscription experience is a plus.
-Demonstrated experience managing digital campaigns from planning through execution, measurement, and optimization across email and other digital channels.
-Hands-on experience with CRM, email marketing and automation, fundraising, CMS, and/or SMS platforms; experience with Tessitura and Prospect2/ActiveCampaign preferred.
-Experience using audience and member data to inform segmentation, targeting, reporting, and campaign decisions, with a working knowledge of key digital and fundraising metrics.
-Experience with A/B testing and marketing automation, including automated email or lifecycle journeys.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, fundraising, communications, or related field.
