Description
The Budget and Management Analyst will perform varied and complex professional work within a team environment in the evaluation and management of City resources. An employee in this class performs advanced professional work in the preparation and administration of the City's operating and capital budgets. Work includes: a variety of budgeting tasks involving statistical financial reports, budgetary accounting, generating spread sheets and graphics on fiscal matters, generating a variety of records and financial reports, and performing related fiscal duties. Assists with year-end audit procedures and other duties. Work is performed under regular supervision and is evaluated through observation, conferences, and review of work. Position works closely with Finance Director and reports to the Assistant City Manager.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 am -5 pm
Hiring Salary Range: $56,633 - $86,803
Requirements
CAREER LADDER FOR BUDGET & MANAGEMENT ANALYST I - III (Depending on Experience and Qualifications)
Qualifications for Budget & Management Analyst I - Pay Grade 16 – $56,633 - $86,180
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management Science, or related area; and one (1) year of experience in the public sector field with budgeting and/or analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field, is preferred and may be substituted for experience.
Special Qualifications:
Possession of a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle. Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.
Qualifications for Budget & Management Analyst II - Pay Grade 18 - $62,437 - $95,014
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management Science, or related area; and three (3) years of experience in public sector budgeting and/or analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field is preferred and may be substituted for experience.
Special Qualifications:
Possession of a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle. Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.
Certified Budget and Evaluation Officer (CBEO) preferred.
Qualifications for Budget & Management Analyst III - Pay Grade 20 - $68,837 - $104,753
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management Science, or related area; and five (5) years of experience in public sector budgeting and/or analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field is preferred and may be substituted for experience.
Special Qualifications:
