Description
OPEN-RANK FACULTY POSITION IN QUANTITATIVE MARKETING
UiS School of Business and Law at the University of Stavanger invites applications for an open-rank faculty position in Quantitative Marketing, with an anticipated start in Fall 2027. The appointment may be made at the level of Associate Professor (tenure track), Associate Professor, or Professor, depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience.
The successful candidate will join the Department of Innovation, Management and Marketing and will develop or further advance an internationally visible research program while contributing to teaching, supervision, and the intellectual life of the department. Responsibilities include conducting and publishing high-quality research, teaching and supervising students at bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, and participating actively in the School’s research and academic community.
We welcome applicants working broadly in quantitative marketing using empirical and/or analytical methods. Relevant approaches include econometric and structural modeling, causal inference, field experimentation, machine learning and artificial intelligence, game-theoretic and other analytical modeling, and other rigorous quantitative methods.
UiS School of Business and Law offers an interdisciplinary research environment spanning marketing, innovation, management, economics, finance, accounting, and law. Faculty members have opportunities to collaborate across the University and with firms and public-sector organizations in the internationally connected Stavanger region. They also participate in doctoral education, research seminars, and collaborative research activities within the School and across UiS.
Candidates appointed as Associate Professor (tenure track) will receive a seven-year fixed-term appointment, with a midterm review normally after three years and a final evaluation near the end of the term. Following successful final evaluation, the candidate will receive permanent employment as Associate Professor or, if the applicable professor-level qualification criteria are met, as Professor. Candidates appointed directly as Associate Professor or Professor will receive permanent employment from the outset. All appointments and evaluations follow applicable Norwegian regulations and UiS criteria.
