- Assistant Vice President, Finance & Physician Alignment
Description
Health Career Talent has been retained by Temple Faculty Practice Plan / Temple Health to recruit an Assistant Vice President, Finance & Physician Alignment.
The Opportunity
Temple Faculty Practice Plan is the largest physician enterprise within Temple University Health System, and this is a rare opportunity to serve as the CFO's right-hand actively guiding financial decisions that will shape the organization’s future.
The AVP will work directly with the CFO and senior leadership on physician compensation, funds flow, proformas, productivity, alignment, and long-term financial sustainability. This is a visible, high-impact role for a finance leader who understands the business of a complex physician enterprise and knows how to turn data, strategy, and assumptions into sound decisions.
The work spans physician compensation modeling and plan administration, faculty and physician proformas, post-investment reviews, effort and productivity analysis, budgeting and forecasting, contract review, and physician alignment initiatives, including employment arrangements, PSAs, co-management structures, and clinical integration. The AVP will partner with Department Chairs, physician leaders, administrators, recruitment, risk management, faculty affairs, and health system finance leadership.
This is not a role for someone who reports results after decisions are made. It is for someone who wants to be part of the conversation and proactively drive decisions before they are finalized.
Who Should Consider This Role
The strongest candidates will have been close to the financial issues that define physician enterprise performance, at an academic faculty practice plan, an AMC physician enterprise, a large employed medical group, or a complex IDN physician subsidiary where compensation, proformas, productivity, and alignment are central to the finance function.
Titles may range from Director to VP to CFO. What matters is depth of experience, not title. Academic faculty practice plan background is highly valued; candidates from large employed medical groups or IDN physician enterprises with directly analogous experience are encouraged to apply.
You should be able to speak concretely about evaluating physician recruitment business cases, building or managing compensation models, supporting funds flow or shared service arrangements, identifying gaps between compensation and productivity, and measuring performance against original proforma assumptions.
The right person will bring credibility because they have done the work.
