Senior Consultant, Client Management-Investment Operations
The Senior Consultant is a key member of Northern Trust's Investment Operations Outsourcing (IOO) client service team, partnering with asset manager clients to deliver high quality middle office investment outsourced operations.
In this role, the Senior Consultant works directly with external clients and internal stakeholders partners to understand business needs, lead discussions, resolve complex operational issues, and drive continuous improvement across end to end middle office services.
Through a global operating model and a single integrated platform, IOO supports post trade activities, valuation, performance, and reporting while balancing quality, risk, and cost.
Major Duties :
Client Service Management
- Develop a strong understanding of client business needs, deliverables, and service expectations
- Lead client and internal discussions and respond independently to complex inquiries
- Drive timely resolution of client issues through coordination with internal partners
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the IOO operating model and client business
- Lead the development and implementation of process enhancements aligned to client needs and service level agreements
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal teams supporting client relationships
- Build strong, trusted relationships across teams to enhance service delivery
- Use collaboration and influence to resolve issues and drive positive client outcomes
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Oversee daily investment operations including cash activity, reconciliations, reporting, and fee billing
- Lead larger, more complex, cross functional initiatives
- Identify and drive process and service quality improvements
- Strengthen procedures and controls to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risk
- University degree preferred or years of relevant experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience within an asset management investment operations environment
- A trusted advisor who partners with internal stakeholders and external asset management clients to deliver consistent, high quality investment operations outcomes
- Ability to build strong, credible relationships with clients and senior leaders through clear communication, sound judgment, and deep operational expertise
- Strong understanding of the investment operations trade lifecycle and operating model, with the experience to navigate complex issues and support informed decision making
- Consulting mindset with a demonstrated ability to improve processes, strengthen operating models, and enhance client outcomes
Analytical problem solver who leverages data and tools such as Power BI and Excel to deliver insights, support transparency, and drive continuous improvement

Salary Range:
$74,700 - 126,900 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
