Pitt EDGE, the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Excellence in Digital Education, is dedicated to advancing the University's strategic vision for online, hybrid, and continuing education. Established within the Office of the Provost, Pitt EDGE supports the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of digital learning programs across Pitt's 16 schools, providing centralized services such as market analysis, academic planning, recruitment, instructional design, technology integration, and quality assurance. The center collaborates closely with academic units to expand access to high-quality education for diverse learner populations and to ensure cohesive, effective online and hybrid learning experiences. The EDGE Enrollment Management team is a dynamic, data-driven unit dedicated to growing Pitt's portfolio of workforce-aligned online, master's and professional programs. We integrate creative storytelling, digital strategy and enrollment best practices to connect prospective students with transformative educational opportunities that advance their careers.
Job Summary
Designs marketing materials for non-degree and certificate University programs including newsletters, magazines, publications, flyers, brochures, web information, videos and course materials. Assists with editing and writing communications.
Essential Functions
The Marketing/Creative Specialist will drive Pitt EDGE's enrollment growth through strategic creative development and compelling storytelling that resonates with prospective students. This role is essential for developing high-performing campaign assets and authentic brand content that differentiate our workforce-aligned online and graduate programs in a competitive market and support conversion across the enrollment funnel. • Develops advertising concepts, messaging strategies, and creative assets aligned with enrollment goals and brand standards • Serves as creative strategist focused on the "what" and "why" of campaigns, collaborating with paid media team on asset optimization • Creates visual and written content across digital and print channels including ads, social media, email, landing pages, and recruitment materials • Produces photography, videography, and graphic design showcasing campus life, programs, and student experiences • Manages multiple creative projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery that meets enrollment cycle deadlines • Partners with admissions, academic departments, and stakeholders to develop authentic, audience-targeted content • Analyzes campaign performance data and conducts testing to optimize creative effectiveness • Ensures design and video assets meet ADA/WCAG accessibility standards, including--but not limited--to captioning and design standards • Maintains digital asset library and ensures brand consistency across all enrollment marketing materials • Stays current on enrollment marketing trends and best practices in higher education marketing
