Position Summary
The Director of Grant Management is responsible for creating and submitting dynamic grant proposals to support Communities In Schools’ annual development goals. This position is responsible for all aspects of raising financial support from foundations, corporations, and government sources requiring proposals for both unrestricted and restricted projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Produce compelling proposals for a variety of existing and prospective funders, including but not limited to corporate, foundation, and government (federal, state, and local) grants.
- Responsible for grant tracking, developing internal reporting schedules, writing reports, maintaining detailed historical records, and working with staff to ensure proposal conditions and expectations are met.
- Conduct prospect research to produce sufficient number and quality of grant prospects, including federal grant opportunities, develop institutional donor profiles; determine areas of funder interest; target appropriate ask amounts; and prioritize and evaluate prospects for foundation and government grants.
- Inform relevant staff of grant outcomes, outputs, and other deliverables to ensure compliance.
- Work closely with CFO and Director of Impact and Evaluation to create budgets and reports.
- Monitor and manage grants income goal.
- Assist with other fundraising projects as assigned.
- Work collaboratively with the development team to achieve annual revenue goals.
Requirements
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3 years of successful grant writing experience, both private and federal.
- Exceptional, above average written and oral communication skills.
- Project management skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.
- Experience with budget and program development and monitoring.
- Expertise in contracts and agreements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in fundraising and/or grant writing and management.
- Proven successful track record of raising foundation and government funds.
- Previous experience with non-profit fundraising.
- Expert knowledge of fundraising techniques and strategies.
Computer Skills
Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with donor database software.
